Welcome to the website of the Occupational Health Psychology Interest Group, of the Australian Psychological Society.
Members of the group are psychologists, and non-psychologists with an interest in the field of occupational health, safety and well being psychology.
According to Leka and Houdmont (2010), “Occupational Health Psychology practitioners work in a wide variety of organisations to promote the understanding, control and prevention of work-related illness and injury, and the promotion of health and well being.” (p. 13). This concise definition of the field of occupational health, safety and well being psychology also acknowledges the wide range of interests, specialist knowledge and skills our members bring to the group.
Current membership of the group has representatives in all Australian States, as well as the Australian Capitol Territory and Northern Territory.
The aims of the group are outlined in our 'Terms of Reference'.
If you have any questions about the group, please direct these one of the Office Bearers
